Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered plainly.

What our programs are, who they serve, and how to begin. For anything else, the contact form is always open.

What is reentry programming?

Reentry programming helps incarcerated individuals prepare for a successful return home. Napier Counseling’s reentry work is built on Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) and includes modules on anger management, relationships, trauma, parenting, and staying quit — plus an Employment Program and a Getting Started orientation. See the reentry program page for the full list.

What is Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)?

MRT is a structured, cognitive-behavioral approach that works through honesty, trust, acceptance, and decision-making in guided steps. Participants examine the beliefs and habits behind past choices and practice new ways of responding. Our facilitators have delivered evidence-based programming within the Kentucky Department of Corrections since 2012.

Who are the reentry programs for?

The reentry programs serve incarcerated individuals, and are delivered in partnership with facilities. If you are with a facility and want to explore bringing a program to your population, start with the facility inquiry form.

What are behavior supports, and who are they for?

Behavior supports help people with acquired brain injuries or developmental disabilities live fuller everyday lives. A Functional Behavior Assessment looks at when a behavior happens and what it communicates; a Behavior Support Plan then lays out practical, respectful strategies for the person and their team. Details are on the behavior supports page.

Are behavior supports and counseling cash pay? Do you take insurance?

Yes — our behavior supports and mental health counseling are cash-pay services, and we do not bill insurance for them. We’re glad to talk through arrangements: ask about payment options when you request a consultation.

How do I request counseling or behavior supports?

Use the consultation request form — tell us which service you’re interested in and the best time to call, and we’ll follow up. Please keep the form general; it isn’t clinical intake.

Where are you located, and whom do you serve?

Napier Counseling, Inc is a Kentucky organization. Our reentry programming is delivered with Kentucky Department of Corrections facilities, and our behavior supports work includes Kentucky’s ABI Waiver program. For counseling and behavior supports availability in your area, reach out through the consultation form.

How do facilities start a program with Napier Counseling?

Send the facility inquiry form on our Partners page with your organization, contact information, and the programs you’re interested in. We’ll follow up to talk fit, scheduling, and next steps.

Are juvenile justice or expanded substance-use programs available now?

Not yet — those are directions on our growth roadmap, not current offerings. Our current services are reentry programming, behavior supports, and mental health counseling.

How do I join the mailing list?

The signup is on our home page — add your email (and name, if you like) and you’ll hear about new programs, expanded services, and Napier Counseling news.
